Beresford Bounty Fund and Church Fund account books, 1859-1875.

Three bound volumes containing accounts and notes concerning the fund, and loose papers including three letters and a statement. Volume 1 (1859-1867) and volume 2 (1868-1875) have "Berresford Bounty Fund" inscribed on their covers. Entries note income derived from interest, dividends, and other sources. Expenses are for salaries, the services of Rutledge & Young, repairs to buildings, school supplies, student expenses (books, board, clothing, mending, pews for the scholars), and other goods and services. Volume 3, inscribed "Church Fund," contains a record of income received from interest on bonds and the Bounty Fund loan, and other sources. Expenses are for repairs to the church and chapel, salaries for clergy and the sexton, loans to the Bounty Fund, the convention, and other goods and services. Three letters (1873, 1874) from Rutledge & Young, counsellors at law, to "Dear Sir" contain financial accounts. A statement (1875) of the property of the Beresford Bounty Fund contains an account of assets and estimated income.
